Zyrardow - Regeneration And A City Reinvented - EU Agenda
For more than 150 years, Żyrardów was best known as the ‘Polish capital of linseed’ – a European powerhouse of the textile industry and a town in which the rhythm and life was intertwined with that of the linseed textile mills. The history of Żyrardów is inherently correlated with the establishment of Łódź, the development of the textile industry in the areas of the Kingdom of Poland in the 19th century, and the subsequent history of towns founded and developed thanks to a manufacturing monoculture, which was known as a ‘light industry’, predominantly employing women.https://euagenda.eu/publications/zyrardo...reinvented
